It's coming! As much as we may try to avoid it! Christmas is appearing in shop windows and near supermarket checkouts. I even started writing Christmas cards today to send overseas to family and friends. I am looking forward to decorating the shop, so keep an eye on our window.
I have a busy 2 months coming up, both in the shop and with family. We have a wedding in a few weeks, which is super exciting. Before the wedding, I am attending (selling books) or holding, several author events. They really are fun, last month Gunning Library hosted local farmer Sam Vincent, author of My Family and Other Animals and the Yass Valley Writers launched their latest anthology in the shop.
Events
Next week Yass Library is bringing Chris Hammer to the Yass Memorial Hall. RSVP to the library and come along, it promises to be a great event.
Several writers from Canberra will be in the shop TODAY talking about their books and signing copies. Join us for a cup of tea and meet the authors.
I'll be selling books at the Quoll Connections event. I am looking forward to this one too!!
Please come along to our special shopping night on Thu 1st December, have a drink and enjoy some Christmas cheer.
We will be open each Thursday until 8pm in December for late shopping.

Summer reading guide
The latest reading guide is out now and I have copies in the shop. The Kid's Reading Guide has been out for a few weeks and you may already have seen copies around town.
There is a great range of fiction and non-fiction books in the guide. It is really helpful if you are buying books as gifts. Most books are new releases and they are all chosen by independent booksellers.
October best sellers
All Aussie authors this time, YAY!
My Father and Other Animals: How I Took on the Family Farm by local author Sam Vincent
Exiles by Jane Harper
The Seven Skins of Esther Wilding by Holly Ringland
Gunning Library hosted an event with Sam Vincent in September. If you are looking for a good read or a gift for someone, this is it. Well written, funny and lots of farm and family tales.
Chris Hammer is coming to Yass in a couple of weeks, thanks to the Yass Valley Library. I am looking forward to hearing about his new book, The Tilt, the follow on from last year's very popular Treasure & Dirt.
Merry Christmas
This is my last newsletter for the year, I will be back in touch in 2023 with more news and events.
Thanks once again for your support throughout the first year of the shop! It has been wonderful collaborating with Kate from Alphability, Scott from Yass High School, Meridyn from Meri Collectables, everyone in the Yass Makers Co-op, local artists and makers and Gunning and Yass Libraries.
Most of all thanks to everyone who visits us, tells people about the shop, joins a book club and attends events and to Helen, Cecelia and Meridyn for being fabulous! It has been amazing being in the Liberty Theatre, thanks to the generous owners and we plan to be around for a while yet.
I hope to see you at an event, in the shop or around town before the end of the year. All the best for Christmas and the New Year.
Jo
