I can't believe is is November already! This is my 4th week of long service leave and I am loving being able to concentrate on the shop, finally. My achievements this past few weeks include working out how to print labels for books and customer receipts from a printer. Little wins but am glad I have that worked out.
Last week was my best yet in the shop, with visits from locals and increasing numbers of people moving around within NSW. I have had customers from Cooma, Newcastle and Goulburn recently and learnt that Goulburn doesn't have a book shop!
Reading guides
2 reading guides have just been released. The Kids Reading Guide 2021/22 and the Booksellers' Choice Your Reading Guide - Summer 21 edition are packed with great reads and gift ideas, just in time for Christmas and the summer holidays. I have heaps of copies of both and have been dropping them around town in coffee shops and anywhere else that will take them.
Book shop launch event
On Thursday 11th Nov I am having a bit of a do to celebrate (almost properly) opening. There will be wine, nibbles, sparkly lights and lots of lovely things to look at in the shop. I am also welcoming my first staff member, Cecelia on Thursday to help out, so I can relax, have a drink and gift wrap some books.
Newsletter
I also sent out my first newsletter this month. You can subscribe if you would like to get updates on new books, events and other booky news.
