I spent Saturday at Canberra Cat Fest where we had a stall for the Yass Valley Cat Rescue and I had one for the shop. We raised money for the cat rescue and I sold a few books and some cat themed stationery and gifts. We saw a few locals, as well as journalist Samantha Maiden who may also be a crazy cat lady??
We had another lovely event at Yazzbar this month, with local author Deirdre Macken, talking to Barbie Robinson about her book Growing Grapes Might be Fun. Local author Rhian Williams will be in the shop tomorrow for story time with her latest book Emergency! Emergency! A picture book with an important message.
From August the book store will only be open Thursday to Saturday. This is just for the next 2 months while the weather is cold. We will be back to opening for most of the week again from the school holidays at the end of September. Book orders from local schools and the library, as well as author events have really kept us going recently. Thank you for supporting local business!
